Lake City, Minn. – Minnesota Crookston men's golf sits in ninth place out of the 13 team field at the Watkins Invitational, hosted by Winona State.
 
Minnesota Crookston shot 304 as a team on Monday, just three strokes behind seventh and six strokes behind the top five.
 
Concordia-St. Paul leads the field by 15 strokes, shooting 280. Minot State and Minnesota State are in a tie for second with a 295 team score.
 
Lukas Justesen (Sr., Detroit Lakes, Minn.) was outstanding on the day, leading the Golden Eagles by shooting a 73, pitting him in a tie for 12th. Marc Bofarull Balleste (So., Barcelona, Spain) shot a 75 on the day, including a pair of birdies.
 
Andrew Wilhelm (So., Fargo, N.D.) and Layton Bartley (Sr., Fargo, N.D.) finished the day with a 76 and 80, respectively.
 
The Golden Eagles will look to move up the leaderboard tomorrow during the final 18 holes. The Golden Eagles will tee off tomorrow morning.
