Smithville, Mo. -- After a really good first round, Minnesota Crookston men's golf struggled during the final two rounds, shooting 305 yesterday and 311 as a team this afternoon, finishing in a tie for sixth with UMary.
Augustana, who trailed the Golden Eagles by three strokes heading into the day, jumped the maroon and gold by shooting 292 on the day and finishing in fifth.
Winona State took home their 16th NSIC Championship, winning by 20 strokes ahead of Concordia-St. Paul. Sioux Falls and Bemidji State rounded out the top four.
Winona State had the top-two finishers, as Max Jericho and Peyton Coahran finished first and second, respectively.
Andrew Wilhelm (Jr., Fargo, N.D.) moved down a spot during the final day, finishing in 17th following a final round 76. Marc Bofarull Balleste (Jr., Barcelona, Spain) also finished with a 76 during the final round, ending in a tie for 20th with teammate Jack Justesen (So., Hawley, Minn.).
Gannon Walsh (Sr., Belgrade, Minn.) and Connor Czirjak (Jr., Calgary, Alberta) finished 34th and 41st, respectively.
Minnesota Crookston's season comes to a close after being ranked in the top 10 regionally at one point earlier this spring.
