Golden Eagle Men's Golf Adds NAIA Standout Bofarull Ballesté to 2024-25 Roster

Crookston, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston men's golf team and head coach Brad Heppner announced the signing of Marc Bofarull Ballesté (Barcelona, Spain).
 
Bofarull Ballesté will join the Golden Eagles as a sophomore after spending one season at Rochester Christian University in Rochester Hills, Mich. Bofarull Ballesté joins Holdyn Evjen of Hermantown, Minn., and Gabe Weller of Alexandria, Minn. as signees for the Golden Eagles heading into next season.
 
The Golden Eagles had four first place finishes this season and finished in seventh at the NSIC Championships this past year.
 
The Golden Eagles add Bofarull Ballesté to an already solid roster that includes Layton Bartley (Sr., Fargo, N.D.), Carson Shultis (Jr., Fargo, N.D.), Lukas Justesen (Sr., Detroit Lakes, Minn.), Connor Czirjak (So., Calgary, Alberta), Jayme French (Sr., Fargo, N.D.) and Andrew Wilhelm (So., Fargo, N.D.).
 
Heppner is excited for the Spaniard to join his roster.
 
"We are excited to add Marc to our roster," Heppner mentioned. "He's had success at the NAIA level and is one of the best golfers at that level. He is a great talent and will add to the tradition of Golden Eagle men's golf."
 
Marc Bofarull Ballesté (So., Barcelona, Spain)
Bofarull Ballesté was a standout for the Warriors in 2023-24 and was named to the First Team All-Conference in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference, being the first Warrior since 2017 to garner that honor. Bofarull Ballesté finished eighth individually at the WHAC Conference Championships.
 
Bofarull Ballesté is the son of Francis Ballesté and Jordi Bofarull. He was named to the Dean's List in the fall of 2023.
