Blue Springs, Mo. – The University of Minnesota Crookston men's golf team will close out their 2023-24 season with their largest tournament of the season, the NSIC Championships, held at a course they have played at this year; The Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs.
 
Minnesota Crookston placed 11
th out of 18 teams at the NSIC Preview in Blue Springs.
 
The 54-hole Championships will include Minnesota Crookston and eight other programs, each vying for an automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals. The teams include: Winona State, Minnesota State, Concordia-St. Paul, Bemidji State, Sioux Falls, Augustana, UMARY and Minot State. The tournament will begin on Friday with a shotgun start at 9 A.M.

The last time the Golden Eagles competed in Blue Springs, they shot a 304 in the first round and followed that up with a 309 on the final 18 holes.
 
The Golden Eagles have three top-five finishes on the season, including one this spring.
 
The Golden Eagles have had four golfers this season compete in all eight tournaments: 
Lukas Justesen (Jr., Detroit Lakes, Minn.), 
Jayme French (Jr., Fargo, N.D.), 
Andrew Wilhelm (Fr., Fargo, N.D.) and 
Layton Bartley (Jr., Fargo, N.D.). All three Fargo natives have been in the top-five for every tournament this season. Both Bartley and French have lows of 69, while Justesen has a low of 70 on the year.
 
Bemidji State will look to defend their title this season, as they won their 16
th conference championship last season.
 
Minnesota Crookston finished seventh in 2023 and fifth in the 2022 NSIC Championships.
