Basehor, Kan. – Minnesota Crookston men's golf finally opened up their spring season with a one day and 36 hole tournament at Falcons Lake Golf Course, hosted by MidAmerica Nazarene University.
 
Minnesota Crookston shot 602 on the day, finishing in a tie for second with Augustana. Minnesota Crookston would win the score card playoff and head back to Crookston with some hardware.
 
Host school MidAmerica Nazarene won the tournament by shooting a phenomenal 579 on the day.
 
The Golden Eagles shot 301 as a team and were paced by 
Jayme French (Jr., Fargo, N.D.) would pace the Golden Eagles with a low of 71, the second best round of his maroon and gold career. 
Andrew Wilhelm (Fr., Fargo, N.D.) shot a 76 in the round, while 
Layton Bartley (Jr., Fargo, N.D.) and 
Connor Czirjak each shot a 77.
 
As a team, the Golden Eagles had 11 birdies in the first 18 holes, led by French, Bartley and Czirjak, who each had three.
 
In round two, the Golden Eagles would shoot well as a team again. Wilhelm would pace the Golden Eagles in the second round by shooting a career-high 69 in the backend. That makes four Golden Eagles now on the season that have shot less than 70 in a round.
 
The Golden Eagles placed two in the top-15 as Wilhelm and French placed in a tie for ninth and 15
th, respectively.
 
What's Next
The Golden Eagles will now stay in Kansas and head to Spring Hill, Kan., for the Rockhurst University Invite, hosted by Rockhurst University, starting on Monday.
