Page's Career Night Leads Golden Eagles to Victory over Peacocks for Fifth Straight Win

Faytette, Iowa --  Alex Page (So., F, Grand Forks, N.D.) had a career-high 29 points, leading Minnesota Crookston to their fifth straight win in a 82-78 victory over Upper Iowa in Fayette.

The Golden Eagles improve to .500 at 8-8 and move to 7-3 in NSIC play.

The Golden Eagles would get off to a quick start, with an Emma Miller (Fr., G, Albertville, Minn.) layup, leading the Golden Eagles to a 6-2 lead.

UIU would eventually take a 15-8 lead, but a Page three would be the start of a 6-0 run, cutting the Peacock lead to just one.

A Bren Fox (R-Sr., C, Norwood Young America, Minn.) jumper at the end of the first quarter would give the Golden Eagles a 22-20 lead at the end of the first ten minutes.

On the first possession of the second quarter, Natalie Mikrot (Fr., G, Willow River, Minn.) would cash in on a three for a five point lead.

UIU would again extend their lead to seven late in the third, but the Golden Eagles would once again get within one after a Miller fast break layup.

The Peacocks would lead by three heading into halftime.

Late in the third quarter, an Abigail Leach (R-Jr., F, Wyoming, Minn.) three ball would give the Golden Eagles a one point lead, which they wouldn't relinquish.

Minnesota Crookston would start to pull away, including having a seven point lead multiple times in the fourth quarter.

A Page layup would give the Golden Eagles their largest lead of the game at nine, but the Peacocks would fight back, making it a two point game late in the game.

Page and Erika Lane (So., G, Breezy Point, Minn.) would go 5-6 from the charity stripe down the stretch, fueling the four point win.

Page finished with a career-high 29 points on 9-13 shooting, while Miller added 16 and Fox collected another double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Golden Eagles will be back at home next weekend for a large weekend. The Golden Eagles will welcome in top-10 Minnesota State for a 5:30 P.M. start.
