Minnesota Crookston Men's Golf Places 11th at NSIC Preview in Missouri

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – The University of Minnesota Crookston men's golf team placed 11th out of 18 teams at the NSIC Preview Invitational at Adams Pointe Golf Course in Blue Springs, Mo. The Golden Eagles shot a 308, after opening the tournament with a 316 on Monday, March 28.

Minnesota Crookston was guided by Rory Wutzke (Fr., Camrose, Alberta), who shot rounds of 80 and 74 to tie for 32nd in the field. Layton Bartley (Fr., Fargo, N.D.) carded scores of 81 and 74. Connor Humble (R-Sr., Rosemount, Minn.) shot rounds of 79 and 77. Keegan Poppenberg (Jr., Esko, Minn.) shot a 78 and an 84. Devin Kucy (Fr., Camrose, Alberta) put up rounds of 79 and 83.

Competing as individuals, Cade Pederson (R-So., West Fargo, N.D.) carded scores of 82 and 79. Ben Trostad (Sr., Crookston, Minn.) shot rounds of 77 and 86.

Rogers State University was the team champion after a pair of rounds of 290. They beat Rockhurst University by 17 strokes. Luke Palmowski was the individual champion after rounds of 67 and 72.

The Golden Eagles will compete in The Mule in Warrensburg, Mo. April 3-5.
