Las Vegas, Nev. -- On Tuesday morning, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced the recipients for the 2022 Mark Laesch Awards. The University of Minnesota Crookston men's golf team was awarded as the recipient in Division II.
The Golden Eagles were one of seven schools from across the nation in all levels of the NCAA to be awarded with the 2022 Mark Laesch Awards.
Teams in each division were recognized based on improvement in adjusted stroke average per round from the 2020-21 to 2021-22 seasons.
The honorees are Alabama A&M (27.88), Minnesota Crookston (17.63), Grinnell (39.34), Lewis-Clark State (12.58), Andrew College (3.75), and Hesston (5.35).
The national honor is well deserved for the Golden Eagles, who finished in the top eight in four out of their five fall tournaments, including a second place finish at the Bemidji State Invite in early September.
Minnesota Crookston looks to continue their strong success in the spring.
