• THE MINNESOTA CROOKSTON women's basketball team wraps up 2022 at home with a pair of games against Minot State University and University of Mary. The Golden Eagles have a pair of pivotal match-ups in the NSIC North. UMary comes into the weekend in a tie for second place in the division, while Minot State is currently in seventh place. The Golden Eagles come into Friday in fifth place in the NSIC North. Minnesota Crookston has a 4-8 (3-3 NSIC) record. The Golden Eagles have already matched their win total from the 2021-22 season. UMN Crookston last defeated the Marauders 73-65 January 30, 2021 at Lysaker Gymnasium.
· NSIC PLAYER OF THE WEEK. UMN Crookston freshman
Emma Miller has been a phenom as of late for the Golden Eagles. Miller is coming off a NSIC North Player of the Week nod heading into the Holiday season. She scored a Minnesota Crookston school-record 37 points on 13-of-20 from the field. Miller is the first Golden Eagle to earn the accolade since Isieoma Odor won the honor four times during the 2018-19 season. Miller has scored 92 points in the last three games for an average of 30.7 points per tilt. She comes into the weekend averaging 17.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. Miller is shooting 40.0 percent from beyond the arc during the 2022-23 campaign.
· DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE.
Bren Fox has already secured three double-doubles during the 2022-23 season. The fifth-year senior is coming off a double-double of 14 points and 16 rebounds to help UMN Crookston secure a season sweep of Bemidji State University with a victory December 17. Fox is notching 12.0 points and 13.0 rebounds per game in the last two for UMN Crookston. Fox is fifth all-time in career rebounds for the Golden Eagles. She needs just nine rebounds to surpass Emily Gruber for fourth all-time in the Minnesota Crookston record books. Fox is 97 rebounds away from tying Laurie Tyson for third. She is 99 rebounds from Katrina (Moenkedick) Nordick in second, and is 182 rebounds away from Isieoma Odor at the top of the charts. In addition, Fox has 685 points in her career, to go with her 593 rebounds. She is currently averaging 7.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game for the Golden Eagles.
· TARYN IT UP. Freshman
Taryn Frazer, a Cass Lake, Minn., native, has jumped right on to the scene for the Golden Eagles.
Frazer comes into the weekend notching 7.1 points per game. Frazer is coming off eight points against Bemidji State on December 17. She had a season-high 25 points earlier this season in a victory over Palm Beach Atlantic University.
• DON'T HURT US FROM DEEP. Minnesota Crookston continues to prevent opponents from shooting the long ball well. The Golden Eagles are holding foes to just 27.2 percent from beyond the arc this season. Teams are just averaging 5.4 three-pointers per game. Minnesota Crookston held MSU Moorhead to 23.5 percent last weekend. Against St. Cloud State on December 3, the Huskies shot just 29.4 percent from beyond the arc. Palm Beach Atlantic was the only team this season to shoot over 40.0 percent on more than 10 attempts from beyond the arc.
• IMPACT TRANSFER.
Nicole Hernandez has made an immediate impact after transferring over from Lindenwood University. The 6-2 forward is averaging 4.7 points and 5.4 rebounds per game for UMN Crookston. She has started 9-of-12 games for
Minnesota Crookston. Hernandez had eight points and 13 rebounds in a win over Palm Beach Atlantic. She notched nine points and six boards against St. Cloud State. In the last game, Hernandez notched six points and four boards to help Minnesota

Bren Fox, and
Erika Lane are all shooting above 80.0 percent on more than 10 attempts this season.
• AT HOME. Minnesota Crookston is looking to make it a winning streak at home after defeating Bemidji State at home December 17. The Golden Eagles are 1-3 at home this season. Last season, UMN Crookston went 1-7 on Gary Senske Court. They are looking to change their fortunes on their home court the rest of the way in 2022-23.
MINOT STATE. Minot State comes in with a 5-7 mark (1-5 NSIC). The Beavers are coming off a four-game losing streak to UMary (twice), Minnesota Duluth, and St. Cloud State. FROM A LAND DOWN UNDER. The Australian connection is strong on the Minot State roster and it has been for a long time, going back to Carly and Christina Boag, who arrived on campus for the 2010-11 season. The Beavers currently have three players from Australia and Western Australia with Natasha Elliott, Jaime Skeggs, and Kate Head.
