Minnesota Crookston Loses to Minnesota Duluth on Thursday

Duluth, Minn. – On Thursday night, Minnesota Duluth held Minnesota Crookston to six second quarter points, defeating the Golden Eagles, 83-58, in Duluth, in women's basketball action.
 
The Golden Eagles fall to 2-6 (1-1 NSIC).
 
It would be a good start for the Golden Eagles, who would get a layup from Bren Fox (R-Sr., F, Norwood Young America, Minn.) and a three ball from Emma Miller (Fr., G, Albertville, Minn.)
 
UMD would go on a 16-0 run after those two Golden Eagle buckets, but Abigail Leach (R-Jr. G/F, Wyoming, Minn.) would sink a three to cut the lead to ten, 18-8.
 
With the Bulldogs up by 13 at the quarter break, the Golden Eagles would get another three from Erika Lane (So., G, Breezy Point, Minn.).
 
UMD would control the second quarter, outscoring the Golden Eagles by 14, to take a 43-16 lead into the halftime break.
 
The Golden Eagles would try to get back into the game after the halftime break, but the closest they would get was 24 in the third quarter.
 
The Golden Eagles would be led by Taryn Frazer (Fr., G, Cass Lake, Minn.), who finished with 12 points and six rebounds. Alex Page (So., F, Grand Forks, N.D.) poured in her first double-figure game of the season, scoring 12 points and five rebounds.
 
The Golden Eagles shot 36.1 percent from the field.

The Golden Eagles are back in action on Saturday as they host St. Cloud State on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 1 P.M.
