Crookston, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston tennis team and head coach Josh Lunak announced the signing of mid-year transfer Blaike Zander to their 2023 roster.
Zander is a transfer from the University Of North Dakota and a former standout at Bismarck Century High School.
The Golden Eagles won two matches last season, their most since they won four in 2014.
The student-athletes listed as having signed a National Letter of Intent or Offer of Admission to play women's tennis at the University of Minnesota Crookston have been verified by the Minnesota Crookston compliance office once they sign the National Letter of Intent or once the student-athlete has accepted an Offer of Admission for Minnesota Crookston.
Blaike Zander (Bismarck, N.D.)
Zander had a prolific Prep career as a Patriot for Bismarck Century. She was a team captain, as well as All-State and All-Conference in the Western Dakota Athletics Conference. In 2018, her team finished second in the WDA and 5
th place as a team at the State Tournament. In 2019, she placed 6
th in the WDA in doubles and finished in 5
th in singles in the WDA in 2021.
Zander was also a contender for the top senior in the state of North Dakota for tennis. In the classroom, Zander earned the highest distinction three years and was part of the National Honors Society.
Blaike is the daughter of Linn and Troy Zander and plans to major in Elementary Education at the University of Minnesota Crookston. Her dad, Troy, was a swimmer at the University of North Dakota.
