Joplin, Mo. – The University of Minnesota Crookston Women's Cross Country Team competed in the NCAA Division II Central Regional Championships on Saturday afternoon in Joplin, Mo., hosted by Missouri Southern State University.
The Golden Eagles placed 32
nd out of 36 teams with 947 points. The Golden Eagles improved exponentially this season. At last year's event, the Golden Eagles finished with 1082 points and had an average of 27:24. This season, they scored 145 points less and improved their team time by almost two minutes, averaging 25:49 this season.
Madison Hilliard (Fr., Jacksonville, N.C.) put a bow on an impressive freshman season, placing 133
rd with a time of 23:32.7.
Anna Grabowski (So., Waterdown, Ontario) finished her 6K with a time of 24:08.4, finishing in 165
th.
Madison Elijah (So., Hebron, Ind.) and
Alyssa Stillman (Sr., Hortonville, Wis.) finished in 210 and 222
nd place with times of 26:11.7 and 27:44.7, respectively.
Brooke Benson (Sr., Monroe, Wash.) and
Alex Christen (R-So., Sauk Centre, Minn.) placed 221
st and 223
rd, respectively.
Katie Orth (R-Sr., Randall, Minn.) finished with a time of 28:46.0, placing 227
th.
Much like the men, every single runner for the Golden Eagles finished with personal bests on the afternoon.
