Crookston, Minn. - Cross Country is heading down to Wayne, Nebraska this weekend for the NSIC Championship. Last year was the highest finish at the NSIC Championship in program history with an 11th place finish out of 16 competing programs. That is a number that the Golden Eagles will look to improve upon.
This season has been full of great finishes. The Defender Classic is the most recent as the Golden Eagles finished 8th out of 17. Morgan Shaw (Jr., Redmond, Ore.) has been leading the charge in that department, she had yet another top 30 finish at the Defender Classic this past weekend, finishing 28th with a time of 22:11. Natalie Wood (R-So., Big Timber, Mont.)Â was right behind her, finishing in 31st with a time of 22:18. The Golden Eagles' third and final top 50 finish was Madison Hilliard (Sr., Jacksonville, N.C.) who came in 40th with a time of 22:35.
The Golden Eagles season is coming to an end soon. This weekend will be the NSIC Championship in Wayne, Nebraska. In two weeks, the NCAA Central Regional Championship will take place in Joplin, Missouri. But this weekend is a big one, and the Golden Eagles will look to keep the good times rolling. The meet will begin at 12Â p.m.
