Minnesota Crookston (5-17, 1-7 NSIC)
After earning a split last weekend against the Beavers of Bemidji State, the Golden Eagles have lost six straight NSIC games and will look to get back on the winning track this weekend on the road against the Dragons and Wolves.
Dana Zarn (So., IF, Winnipeg, Manitoba) has been the most consistent Golden Eagle in the batter's box. The Winnipeg native is hitting .348 on the season with a .882 OPS on the season, with one home run and nine RBI's, which is tied for the team lead with
Shaelyn Grant (Fr., C/OF, Grand Junction, Colo.). Fellow Colorado native
Rachel Jones (Fr., UT, Fort Collins, Colo.) is second on the team with 16 hits.
Alina Avalos (So., P/1B, Riverside, Calif.) leads the team with two home runs on the season.
In the circle, the Golden Eagles have been led by
Katie Humhej (Sr., P, Surrey, British Columbia), who leads the team with a 2.89 ERA and three wins on the season. Humhej leads the Golden Eagle pitching staff in almost every character, including strikeouts with 67.
MSU Moorhead (4-18, 2-6 NSIC)
The Dragons are a familiar foe for the Golden Eagles. These two teams met earlier this year, with the Golden Eagles sweeping the doubleheader, which was also in Moorhead.
The Dragons have some run producers in Emma Dummer and Samantha Gjerde, who lead the team with 11 and 10 RBI's respectively. They also lead the team in hits with 20 and 18, also respectively. As a team, the Dragons have only one home run on the season, which came off the bat of Ally Helgoe in a game against Southwest Baptist.
In the circle, the Dragons have a team ERA of 7.89. The Golden Eagles scored double-digit runs in both games against the Dragons earlier this year. Anna Lang leads the team with 11 starts and four complete games on the season, as well as innings pitched with 62.1 innings pitched. Reece Dahl has gotten 10 starts and is 2-8 on the season.
Northern State (12-8, 3-3 NSIC)
Another team that the Golden Eagles are familiar with are the Northern State Wolves. These two teams met earlier this season, resulting in a 1-0 Wolves win.
As a team, the Wolves have the fifth best offense in the NSIC. As a team, the Wolves hit .323 and are fourth in the conference with 20 team home runs, led by Makenzie Merrit's six, which is tied for second in the NSIC. Kennady Thompson is eighth in the NSIC with a .452 batting average and has five games of three hits or more on the season. The Wolves can flat-out hit the ball.
In the circle, Meaghan Anderson is 6-5 on the season in 16 starts. The Verona, Wis., native threw a complete game, two hit and 13 strikeout masterpiece against the Golden Eagles earlier this season. The 13 strikeouts against the Golden Eagles tied a season-high for Anderson. Elyse Cuttic has earned four starts on the season and has a 2.91 ERA, which leads the team.
