Minnesota Crookston (7-23, 3-13 NSIC)
The Golden Eagles are back home after a lengthy road trip. Offensively, the Golden Eagles are led by sophomore
Dana Zarn (So., IF, Winnipeg, Manitoba). Zarn is the only position player hitting above .300 (.341) and has 30 hits on the season, which also leads the team. Zarn also has two home runs and 11 RBI's on the season.
Rachel Jones (Fr., UT, Fort Collins, Colo.) and
Cassie Querry (Sr., C/3B, Cassville, Pa.) are second and third on the team in batting average. Querry leads the team with three home runs. As a team, the Golden Eagles have 54 extra-base hits on the season, including 34 doubles.
In the circle,
Katie Humhej (Sr., P, Surrey, British Columbia) has been terrific. Humhej has a 2.46 ERA with seven complete games and two shutouts. The senior has 94 strikeouts to just 23 walks in 79.2 innings pitched and is allowing just a .238 average to opponents.
Sofia Gombos (Fr., P, Salinas, Calif.) has been solid in her freshmen season as well.
St. Cloud State (17-9, 6-6 NSIC)
The Huskies have a win over #18 Minnesota State Mankato earlier this season, but have lost two in a row against Concordia-St. Paul, who the Golden Eagles will see this weekend.
The Huskies are one of the most dangerous offensive teams in the NSIC. The Huskies currently have five hitters who have started in 20 games or more that are hitting over .400, including Raven Vanden Langenberg and Brooke Bowlin, who are hitting over .460 on the season. Jasmin Estrada is also hitting over .400 and leads the team with five home runs and 23 RBI's. Megan Conrads is hitting .316 and is second on the team with 21 RBI's. The Huskies offense has scored 171 runs on the season.
In the circle, the Huskies pitching staff is really, really good. The team ERA currently sits at 2.69 and is led by Kylie Thomsen, who has a 2.01 ERA and leads the team with seven wins on the season. Lauren Kirchberg and Trinity Junker are the other two arms in the pitching staff that give the Huskies a good trio to lean on.
