The University of Minnesota Crookston softball team will be back on the road this weekend for a pair of doubleheaders with Upper Iowa on Saturday and Winona State on Sunday. This weekend will be the second weekend in a row that the Golden Eagles are on the road.

Minnesota Crookston (6-20, 2-10 NSIC)
The Golden Eagles will look to halt a modest two game skid this weekend in Fayette, Iowa and Winona, Minn.
Dana Zarn (So., IF, Winnipeg, Manitoba) leads the team with a .325 average on the season and is the only Golden Eagle hitter with a .300 or better average.
Hannah Macias (Jr., OF, West Covina, Calif.),
Cassie Querry (Sr., C/3B, Cassville, Pa.) and
Shaelyn Grant (Fr., C/OF, Grand Junction, Colo.) are each hitting over .230 on the season. As a team, the Golden Eagles have hit 11 home runs on the season, with two each coming off the bat of Querry,
Alina Avalos (So., P/1B, Riverside, Calif.) and
Alyssa Stillman (So., SS/2B, Hortonville, Wis.).
In the circle, the Golden Eagles have been led by
Katie Humhej (Sr., P, Surrey, British Columbia), who leads the team with a 2.49 ERA. Humhej leads the Golden Eagle pitching staff in almost every category, including strikeouts with 76.
Sofia Gombos (Fr., P, Salinas, Calif.) is having a solid freshman season in the circle as well, as she is tied for Humhej with three wins.
Upper Iowa (8-17, 4-8 NSIC)
The Peacocks are coming off of a sweep of Sioux Falls last weekend in Fayette. Prior to that sweep of the Cougars, UIU lost five games in a row.
Payton Kastenschmidt and Katie Crogan lead the Peacocks offensively. Both have OPS' over 1.000 on the season and each are hitting over .350. Kastenschmidt leads the team with a .414 average. Crogan has five home runs on the season, which is 14
th in the NSIC. Kaylee Frenette is another hitter to watch for the Peacocks as well.
Pitching-wise, the Peacocks have gotten all 25 starts from the duo of Abby McKay and Sydney Wilcox. McKay leads the team with a 6-7 record and a 3.59 ERA, while striking out 96 in 87.2 innings pitched. Wilcox is 2-10 on the season with a 4.82 ERA in 11 starts.
Winona State (19-6, 8-4 NSIC)
The Warriors are a perennial power in the NSIC. WSU finished the conference season undefeated at 30-0 in 2019. This season, the Warriors sit at 19-6 on the season and are coming off of a sweep of Southwest Minnesota State.
The Warriors are one of the best offensive teams in the NSIC. Winona State has six hitters above the .300 threshold, including two hitters with a .400 or better average in Abbie Hlas and Katie Kolb. Libby Neveau is third in the conference with 30 RBI's and leads the Warriors. Neveau also has six home runs on the season. The Warriors lead the conference with 187 runs scored.
The duo of Jordyn Kleman and Liz Pautz have been good in the circle this season for the Warriors. Kleman has a 12-3 record with a 1.80 ERA in 81.2 innings pitched, while striking out 99 and has given up just 21 earned runs. Pautz is 5-3 on the season with 73 strikeouts in just 51 innings pitched this season.
