• The Minnesota Crookston women's basketball team enters the weekend with a 10-16 (5-15 NSIC) mark. The Golden Eagles are looking to break out of an eight-game losing streak as Minnesota Crookston heads into the final two games of the regular-season. The Golden Eagles come in averaging 67.3 points per game, while allowing 71.2 points per tilt. Minnesota Crookston is shooting 40.5 percent from the field, 32.9 percent from beyond the arc, and 75.6 percent from the stripe.

•  SWEEPING THE BULLDOGS. The Minnesota Crookston women's basketball team is looking for the sweep of Minnesota Duluth. The Golden Eagles picked up a 66-61 win over the Bulldogs Jan. 5, 2019 in Crookston, Minn. Minnesota Duluth has never earned the sweep over the Golden Eagles. The Bulldogs own a 31-4 all-time mark over Minnesota Crookston.

BOUNCE BACK AGAINST THE HUSKIES. Minnesota Crookston is looking to bounce back against St. Cloud State after falling to the Huskies 68-58 Jan. 4 in Crookston, Minn. St. Cloud State owns a 21-7 all-time mark over the Golden Eagles. Minnesota Crookston last won over St. Cloud State Jan. 7, 2017 with a 78-76 win in Crookston, Minn., at Lysaker Gymnasium.

ISY DOES IT. Minnesota Crookston redshirt senior Isieoma Odor has been off to one of the best seasons any player has had in the history of the Golden Eagle women's basketball program. Odor is second in the league, averaging 18.0 points per game. She is seventh in the conference with 8.5 rebounds per game. Odor also continues to move up the all-time charts for the Golden Eagles. She just moved to fourth all-time in career scoring last weekend, as she surpassed Alexa Thielman, her former teammate, on the all-time charts. Odor currently has 1,469 career points. She needs 91 points to surpass another former teammate Katrina Nordick for third all-time. Odor surpassed Laurie Tyson for second, and Katrina Nordick, her former teammate, for the all-time record. Odor has 758 career rebounds in her time in the Maroon and Gold.

THE LAST I IS SILENT. The last I may be silent in the last name of Caitlin Michaelis (my-kulls), but she has been anything but silent this season. The senior comes into the weekend averaging 11.3 points per game. Michaelis has been strong from outside the arc, where she is hitting at a 33.1 percent clip. Michaelis had a career-high 29 points on 9-of-16 from the field last Friday against Minot State. She shot an astounding 7-of-10 from beyond the arc against the Beavers. Michaelis will look to catch fire in her final regular-season games as a Golden Eagle.

•   JUST TRY AND BOX OUT FOX. Freshman Bren Fox, a native of Norwood Young America, Minn., has been crucial on the boards for Minnesota Crookston this season. Fox is coming off a 19 rebound performance last Friday against Minot State. The 19 boards came one game after grabbing 14 rebounds against Concordia-St. Paul. Fox is notching 8.7 points and 14.0 rebounds in the last three tilts for Minnesota Crookston.

GIVE ME SOME PEP. Julia Peplinski is coming off her best weekend as a Golden Eagle, as her turning point of her freshman season may have come last Friday in a double overtime game against Minot State. Peplinski had what would have been the game-winning basket in double overtime, before the Beavers scored in the final seconds for the win. She averaged 10.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in two games last weekend. Peplinski was big on the offensive boards, as she had five offensive rebounds and 11 boards overall off the bench against UMary. Peplinski will look to continue the strong play this weekend.

A WEAKLEY THING.  Paige Weakley has continued to come on this season for the Golden Eagles, especially has a three-point threat. The junior from Kearney, Mo., is shooting 39.0 percent from beyond the arc on the season. Weakley is averaging 1.5 makes per game from behind the three-point line. Weakley had a career-high 23 points two weeks ago against Minnesota State, as she went 5-of-11 from beyond the arc. She averaged eight points per game for the Golden Eagles last weekend led by nine points against Minot State.

POST GAME.  Kylie Post, might not play center, but she is quite the "Post" presence this season. She has been able to get to the hoop and distribute to her opponents to create for her teammates. Post is averaging 8.6 points and 2.1 assists per game this season. Post had 10 points against Minot State last Friday. She has 10 games with double-figure scoring on the 2018-19 season. Post will look to have a big weekend for the Golden Eagles.

DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE.  The Golden Eagles have found success when they have been able to keep opponents under 70 points this season. Minnesota Crookston is 9-4 when holding opponents under the 70-point mark. The Golden Eagles have held teams to 71.2 points per game this season. Their opponents are shooting 40.5 percent from the field, and 32.9 percent from beyond the arc on the season.

•  SINK THE FREE ONES.  Minnesota Crookston is ranked second in the conference when it comes to free throw shooting. The Golden Eagles are hitting at a 756  percent clip from the line this season. Stephanie McWilliams has over 10 attempts, and is shooting over 90-percent from the charity stripe. Caitlin Michaelis, Paige Weakley, Kylea Praska, and Julia Peplinski are all shooting over 80.0 percent. Isieoma Odor has the most attempts from the line, and is hitting at a 78.5 percent clip. Needless to say, Minnesota Crookston is hoping to get to the line this weekend and make it pay off.

MINNESOTA DULUTH. The Bulldogs currently has a record of 15-9 (16-4 NSIC) on the season and is sitting in second place in the north division. Minnesota Duluth is also 9-1 at home. The Bulldogs were on a seven game winning streak before snapping that with a loss to Minnesota State University Moorhead last Saturday. Minnesota Duluth averages 64.7 points per game and is outscoring opponents by 9.8 points. The Bulldogs take great care of the ball on offense and are propelled by a strong defense that averages 9.6 steals per game along with four blocks a game. Earlier this season when the Bulldogs and Golden Eagles met the Golden Eagles won 66-61. Minnesota Duluth is looking to get back in the win column and earn a season split with Minnesota Crookston while solidifying a top spot in the
conference.

THE KOZ. Sammy Kozlowski is a guard that comes in as the team leading scorer with 12 points per game. Kozlowski is also the team facilitator and comes in averaging 3.6 assist per game. When she gets to the free throw line she is very consistent shooting 79.2 percent. Against Northern State Kozlowski scored 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting, against Moorhead she had nine points but added five assist. Sammy Kozlowski will look to impact the game in more ways than one this time against Crookston.

LET IT GROW. Sarah Grow is a sophomore forward that comes into this weekend's contest averaging 10.9 points and shooting 43.6 percent in the post. Grow also averages 6.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game. Last weekend Grow scored eight points against Northern State and recorded four blocks. Against Moorhead Grow scored an impressive 19 points which was one point shy of her season high along with seven rebounds. She will look to be aggressive in the post both on offense and defense in this weekend's contest against Minnesota Crookston.

BUCKETS FOR BOEHM. Emma Boehm is averaging 8.5 points per game and 1.9 assist per game. Boehm is also shooting 75 percent from the free throw line. She is deadly from beyond the arch shooting a team high 51 percent. Both games last weekend Boehm put up eight points but did not make any thrre pointers. She will look to add the deep ball to her arsenal again to help the Bulldogs win.

ST. CLOUD STATE HUSKIES. The Huskies come into this weekend's matchup with an overall record of 15-9 (12-8 NSIC) on the season and is currently in fourth place in the North division. The Huskies are coming off of a weekend split where they lost a close one to Minnesota State University Moorhead and beat Northern State University which makes them 3-1 in their last four games. The Huskies are averaging 66.2 points per game and are shooting 72.6 percent from the free throw line. St. Cloud loves to spread the floor and share the ball as they come in averaging 13.9 assist per game. The Huskies will be looking for the season sweep of Minnesota Crookston and the possibility to move up to third in the conference.

DOUCE DRIVING. Mallie Doucette is a guard that comes off the bench for the Huskies but is the team leading scorer, she averages 12.6 points a game. Doucette is shooting 40.5 percent from the field and 87.5 percent from the free throw line. Doucette is also averaging 1.8 assist per game. Last weekend she scored 10 points against Moorhead and 14 points against Northern State. Mallie Doucette will look to continue scoring for the Huskies by getting to the free throw line.

IN THE WORTZ WAY. Tori Wortz is another guard that is averaging 12.4 points per game, 4.2 rebounds per game, and 2.2 assist. Wortz is also shooting a solid 81 percent at the free throw line. Last weekend out Wortz had seven points and three assists against Moorhead. She also tallied five points and four rebounds against Northern State. Tori Wortz is looking to get back on track scoring and running the offense.

MADDIE'S WAY. Madelin Dammann is a guard who comes into this matchup averaging 9.6 points per game, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assist. Against Moorhead Dammann scored 13 points and notched two assist. Dammann was limited to just three points against Northern State but only shot the ball three times. Madelin Dammann will look to get more shots up against Minnesota Crookston.
