CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston women's golf program announced the signing of Megan Ryan (Oconto, Wis./Oconto H.S.) to a National Letter of Intent. Ryan is the first signing for Head Coach
Bryan Beamish for the 2017-18 squad.
"I am excited to have Megan join the U of M Crookston women's golf team," Beamish said. "Megan has been an All-Conference golfer for her high school team the last two seasons. She will not only be a great addition on the golf course, but also in the classroom as she has been very a strong student during her four years at Oconto High School."
Ryan will help the Golden Eagles fill the void left by the graduations of
Baillee Hauser (Sr., Raymond, Minn.) and
Kristi Larson (Sr., New Ulm, Minn.). Minnesota Crookston is scheduled to return three golfers to the roster next season with seniors-to-be
Ashlee Humble (Rosemount, Minn.) and Natasha Maniga (Menahga, Minn.) and junior-to-be
McKenzie Harris (Nevis, Minn.).

Ryan has been a First Team All-Bay Conference pick the last two seasons for golf. She has been on the varsity golf team during all four of her years at Oconto High School. Ryan was named the Golf Team Most Valuable Player the last three seasons. She is a section qualifier the last two years. She also competed in basketball and track and field the last four seasons. She has placed in the Top 10 several times during her Junior PGA career in the state of Wisconsin.
Ryan is the daughter of Paul and Krist Ryan. She was born June 29, 1999. Ryan plans to major in animal science. She has been very involved in her high school. Ryan was on the Student Council as a freshman and sophomore. She has also been a member of the science club, band, jazz band and clarinet choir. Ryan helped the clarinet choir to first at state and in districts. She also helped the jazz band to first in the state rankings and at districts. She was named a Wisconsin Academic All-State Honoree as a senior.
All signees are contingent upon admission to the U of M Crookston and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center. Everyone released today has signed their National Letter of Intent prior to release of information.
