CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston western equestrian team will host a home show on Sat., Feb. 18 and will then host the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Regional Championship Sun., Feb. 19 at the University Teaching and Outreach Center (UTOC).
Minnesota Crookston will compete against the University of Minnesota, University of Wisconsin-River Falls, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and North Dakota State University this weekend. The full western team last competed at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Dec. 3 and 4. The Golden Eagles were led that weekend by wins from
Katie Warner (Jr., Warba, Minn.) in Advanced Horsemanship,
Katelynn Robertson (So., Roseau, Minn.) in Novice Horsemanship and Skyla Knudtson (So., Blooming Prairie, Minn.) in Intermediate Horsemanship.
This weekend, Robertson will compete in Advanced Horsemanship,
Cathy Ackroyd (Sr., Spirit Lake, Iowa) will take the show pen in Open Reining and Open Horsemanship.
Hannah Van Dyke (Sr., Edgerton, Minn.) will also compete in Advanced Horsemanship.
Madeline Drayna (Fr., Milaca, Minn.),
Anna Johnson (So., Sebeka, Minn.) and
EmmaRae Nelson (Fr., Thief River Falls, Minn.) will all compete in Novice Horsemanship.
Shayla Marthaler (Fr., Osakis, Minn.),
Whitney Weidenborner (Fr., Bemidji, Minn.) and
Sarah Zellmer (Fr., Mahtomedi, Minn.) will all compete in Intermediate II Horsemanship, while Knudtson will compete in Intermediate I Horsemanship.
Jayde Proffitt (Fr., Winsted, Minn.) rounds things out by competing in Beginner Horsemanship.
