UMC will round out the tournament as they take on host, Maryville University, at 5 p.m. Sat., Sept. 6.
Minnesota Crookston returns three starters from last season's squad that put up a program-best 15-14 mark and advanced to the NSIC Tournament, which only takes the top eight teams. In addition, the season was highlighted by
Brittany Looker, UMC's outside hitter, earning All-NSIC First Team. In addition to Looker, UMC returns
Morgan VanGerpen and
Sierra Trost, who were both starters last year.
#5StoryLines1. Can
Brittany Looker have as productive of a season as she did last year after averaging 3.84 kills per set and earning All-NSIC First Team honors?
2. Can
Mary Mikutowski fill the void vacated by
Chelsea Wiesner's 4.13 digs per set from the libero position?
3. How will the second outside hitter position play out in the battle between
Stephanie Pearson,
Rachel Freund and
Kali Erickson?
4. How will the second middle hitter position play out in the battle between
Erin Schwarz,
Kelci Green and
Alyssa Muelken?
5. Can UMC come out of the tough NSIC schedule with a strong record?
