The Scoop   The University of Minnesota Crookston volleyball team will return home for Homecoming weekend as they take on Northern State University for the second time this season Fri., Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. and then take on Minnesota State University Moorhead at 4 p.m. Sat., Oct. 18. The Golden Eagles are 9-10 (3-8 NSIC) while Northern State comes in with a 13-6 (6-5 NSIC) mark and MSU Moorhead is 8-11 (3-8 NSIC).

Previewing the Golden Eagles   The Golden Eagles continue to be led by play of senior outside hitter
Brittany Looker, who is averaging 4.33 digs per set. Tuesday, Looker became the third person in school history to tally 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs joining Kendra Corneliusen and Joan Ebnet. Looker has led the NSIC in kills per set for the most of the season and was recently crowned the all-time kills leader at UMC.
   In addition to Looker, redshirt freshman
Kassi Green has had strong moments on the right side, averaging 1.88 kills per set. The play of her twin sister
Kelci Green, who plays in the middle, has increased of late, while outside hitter
Stephanie Pearson comes in averaging 1.86 kills per set. At setter, UMC has gone to a 6-2 utilizing both
Sierra Trost, who leads the team with 8.57 assists per set, and
Kaycie Hagen.
   Defensively,
Mary Mikutowski has played well of late and is averaging 3.85 digs per set at the libero spot.
Previewing the Wolves   Northern State was ranked earlier this season but has fallen from the top 25. The Wolves are led by one of the NSIC's best, Kelsey Chambers, who is averaging 3.94 kills per set this season. In addtion to her, freshman outside Mandy Kurosky comes in averaging 2.89 kills per set. Setter Drew Smith has become of the strongest setters in a strong league, averaging 13.13 assists per set.

Previewing the Dragons   MSU Moorhead has been led by middle hitter Kaitlin VanWinkle, who comes in averaging 3.38 kills per, while Abby Wolpern is averaging 2.79 kills per set on the year. At setter, Casie Baer leads the team with 6.01 assists per set while Sam Sullivan is averaging 4.71 assists per set.
