Mayetta, Kan. -- Minnesota Crookston men's golf finished the Firekeeper Open in Kansas in 17th out of 17 teams.
The Golden Eagles shot 927 as a team through three rounds, shooting 308 as a team during the final round this afternoon.
Central Oklahoma won the tournament by 13 strokes ahead of Washburn, while Central Missouri finished in third.
Myles Tarvin of Washburn and Rhett Hughes of Central Oklahoma tied for first place with a score of six under par. Nicholas Canales of Central Oklahoma finished in third with four under par.
Andrew Wilhem (Jr., Fargo, N.D.) was solid throughout the tournament, finishing in a tie for 32nd after shooting a final round 77 on the day. Marc Bofarull Balleste (Jr., Barcelona, Spain) finished in a tie for 78th after moving up four spots during the final day.
Gannon Walsh (Sr., Belgrade, Minn.) moved up a spot and was helped with an eagle on hole number four, a par-five. Carson Shultis (Sr., Fargo, N.D.) and Connor Czirjak (Jr., Calgary, Alberta) finished in 96th and 97th, respectively.
As a team, the Golden Eagles had eight birdies on the day.
The Golden Eagles will now compete at the NSIC Conference Championships on April 17-19 in Smithville, Mo.
