Golden Eagles Set to Take on the University of Mary

Crookston, Minn. - Golden Eagle Tennis is making their third straight NSIC Tournament appearance, and will enter as the four seed following a 7-3 conference record. The Golden Eagles wrapped up the season in dominant fashion, recording seven straight wins. Their total record on the season was 10-8. Their first round matchup is with the University of Mary, who the Golden Eagles defeated in November 6-1 and again in March 4-3. 

In singles this season, Daniela de Lucas Rivera (Jr., Madrid, Spain) is now 8-9, Asli Oktay (So., Istanbul, Turkey) is 6-11, Nadia Cases Mundet (Jr., Barcelona, Spain) is 11-7, Terez Drasilova (Fr., Naples, Fla.) is 5-2, Abril Manas Hernandez (So., Barcelona, Spain) is 6-9, Kavya Singh (Sr., Agra, India) is now 8-7. As a team, the Golden Eagles are 52-56 in singles.

In doubles, Daniela de Lucas Rivera and Terez Drasilova are 3-5, Asli Oktay and Ariadna Solis Guals are 4-6, and Kavya Singh and Nadia Cases Mundet are 11-2. The Golden Eagles are 24-29 in doubles this season.

The Marauders.

The Marauders had a 4-6 conference record, going 6-10 on the season. They finished the season with two straight wins, defeating Bemidji State University 7-0 and the University of Minnesota Duluth 6-1. Each of their final six games was in conference, where they went 3-3 to get themselves into the tournament. They enter the tournament as the fifth seed, having finished sixth in the conference but earning the fifth spot due to the University of Jamestown being ineligible for the NSIC Tournament due to it being their first season in the conference.

Singles.

The Marauders were 41-54 in singles this season, going 29-37 in conference. Overall, they had three players hit eight singles wins: Elizabete Lekse was 8-8, Brooke Mulholland was 8-7, and Anna Sueflohn was 8-6. Josie Sueflohn was right behind the top three at 7-9.

Doubles.

The Marauders had a 25-23 doubles record this season, going 15-18 in conference. Anna and Josie Sueflohn were the top duo for their team at 7-3, Maja Panganiban and Natalia Jorge Magarzo were 5-5, and Brooke Mulholland and Elizabete Lekse were 4-0.

The Golden Eagles and Marauders are set to play Friday, April 24th at 1:30 p.m. with the winner advancing to the Semi-final to play Augustana University.
