SARTELL, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston continued their win streak, extending it to six matches with a commanding 5-2 victory over St. Cloud State University Friday, April 10 in Sartell, Minn.

The Golden Eagles improved to 9-8 (6-3 NSIC) with Friday's win. The Huskies dropped to 3-11 (1-8 NSIC) with the loss. Minnesota Crookston is 3-1 in their last four matches against St. Cloud State.

The U of M Crookston picked up the doubles point to open the match. Asli Oktay (So., Istanbul, Turkey) and Ariadna Solis Guals (Jr., Santpedor, Spain) earned a 7-5 win over Brooklyn Broadwell and Gibby Chapman. The program's all-time winningest doubles duo of Nadia Cases Mundet (Jr., Barcelona, Spain) and Kavya Singh (Sr., Agra, India) won by default for their 11th doubles win of the season. At No. 1 doubles, Daniela de Lucas Rivera (Jr., Madrid, Spain) and Abril Manas Hernandez (So., Barcelona, Spain) fell to Margarita Vinichenko and Lara Schaefer 6-3.

In singles, at the No. 1 spot, de Lucas Rivera earned her sixth singles win of the season with a victory over Schaefer. At No.2 singles, Oktay picked up fifth victory of the season, defeating Vinichenko, 6-0, 6-2. At No. 3 singles, Cases Mundet fell 7-5, 6-0, 10-7 to Broadwell. At the No. 4 spot, Chapman beat Singh, 4-6, 7-5, 11-9. Manas Hernandez and Katie VanPelt each picked up wins by default to claim the 5-2 victory.

Minnesota Crookston sits in fourth as they are in prime position for their third-straight NSIC Tournament berth heading into their final regular-season match Saturday at 12:30 pm against Minnesota State University Moorhead. Minnesota Crookston has reached at least seven wins in four-straight seasons.Â
