CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston trap team remains in second place in the USA College Clay Target League Class 1A-Conference 6 standings after week two of the spring season. Minnesota Crookston had an overall tally of 568.0 for the week. They have 1,219.5 points after two weeks. They trail Alfred State College, who has 1,655.5 points, and lead Bethany Lutheran College by 19.5 points. They also are in front of Illinois College, Valley City State University, Indiana Wesleyan University, and Maine Maritime Academy.
Dessa Terning (Fr., Dassel, Minn.) is in a tie for ninth for the highest average among female shooters in the entire USA College Clay Target League with an average of 23.25. Lucas Wavra (So., East Grand Forks, Minn.) tied for ninth among male shooters in Conference 6 with an average of 23.5. Terning is tied for fourth in Conference 6 among females, while Kelsey Harms (Sr., Norwood Young America, Minn.) is tied for ninth with a 21.75 average.Â
The Golden Eagles were guided in the second week by Terning, who connected on 47-of-50 targets. Wavra hit 46-of-50 clay targets. Austin Hughes (So., New York Mills, Minn.) and Braxton Qual (Jr., Mahnomen, Minn.) were each 45-of-50 for Minnesota Crookston. Chase Nelson (Jr., Red Lake Falls, Minn.), Hunter Pierson (Sr., Saint Hilarie, Minn.), and C.J. Walsh (So.) all went 44-of-50. Ruth Freiberg (Sr., Hopkins, Minn.), and Harms were 43-of-50 for the week. Louis Siegel (Sr., Anoka, Minn.) hit 42-of-50 clay targets. Jayden Bergerson (Sr., Gully, Minn.) and Amelia Miller (Fr., Hastings, Minn.) each went 41-of-50.Â
The Golden Eagles head into week three beginning April 19. They have three weeks of scoring remaining in the spring season.
