Smithville, Mo. -- The biggest tournament of the season has arrived for Minnesota Crookston men's golf. The NSIC Championships are scheduled for three rounds, starting on Friday and closing on Sunday.
This will be the second tournament at the Paradise Pointe Golf Complex for the Golden Eagles this season. They finished third out of 15 teams at the NSIC Preview earlier this year.
Minnesota Crookston finished in fifth place a season ago at the NSIC Championships, the second time since 2022 with a top-five finish.
Marc Bofarull Balleste (Sr., Barcelona, Spain) had an excellent conference championship a season ago, finishing in fifth place after shooting a 69 and 68 during the final two rounds. The now junior was the first Golden Eagle in 15 years to be named to the NSIC All-Tournament team.
Of the returning Golden Eagles, Connor Czirjak (Jr., Calgary, Alberta) and Andrew Wilhelm (Jr., Fargo, N.D.) finished in a tie for 25th and 31st, respectively.
Since 2022, the Golden Eagles have two fifth place finishes and a pair of seventh place finishes.
Concordia-St. Paul won the conference championships a season ago.
