Golden Eagles Head to Florida in Search of Two Wins

Crookston, Minn. - Golden Eagle Tennis will head to Florida this weekend for a pair of games. They will play California University of Pennsylvania on Sunday and Bryn Mawr College on Monday. In the program's history, they have played the California University of Pennsylvania Vulcans once, a 5-2 win in 2024, and have never played the Bryn Mawr Owls.

 

Singles.

 

In singles this season, Daniela de Lucas Rivera (Jr., Madrid, Spain) is 3-6, Asli Oktay (So., Istanbul, Turkey) is 3-7, Nadia Cases Mundet (Jr., Barcelona, Spain) is 6-4, Terez Drasilova (Fr., Naples, Fla.) is 3-1, Kavya Singh (Sr., Agra, India) is 4-4, and Abril Manas Hernandez (So., Barcelona, Spain) is 3-7.

 

Doubles.

 

In doubles this season, Ariadna Solis Guals (Jr., Santpedor, Spain) and Asli Oktay are 2-3, Daniela de Lucas Rivera and Abril Manas Hernandez are 0-3, and Kavya Singh and Nadia Cases Mundet are 3-2.

 

The Vulcans.

 

The Vulcans have started off their season with a 3-4 record ahead of their match with the Golden Eagles and are currently on a three game losing streak. 

 

Singles.

 

The Vulcans have opened their season with a 24-18 singles record. Leading the charge for the team is Garance Laforet with a 5-1 record. Leandra Guldimann is 4-2, while Diletta Maria Mungo and Lilli Schreiber are each 4-3.

 

Doubles.

 

The Vulcans are a strong 15-6 in doubles this season. Garance Laforet and Diletta Maria Mungo lead the team with a 6-1 record, Izabella Heacox and Lilli Schreiber are not far behind them with a 4-2 record.

 

The Owls.

 

The Owls have had a good start to the season with a 3-1 record. They have played the fewest games of the two teams that the Golden Eagles will play this weekend, so we will see how that plays out. 

 

Singles.

 

The Owls have an 18-6 record in singles this year, which includes an undefeated 4-0 record for Bianca Vesuna. Sophie Fenster, Kelli Eng, and Claire Emanuel are each a strong 3-1.

 

Doubles.

 

The Owls are 10-2 in doubles this season. Bianca Vesuna and Shay Villegas lead them with an undefeated 4-0 record. Kelli Eng and Claire Emanuel are 3-1, and Sophie Fenster and Giselle Gandakusuma are 3-1 as well. 

 

The Golden Eagles and Vulcans will start their match on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. central at the Lake Cane Tennis Center in Orlando Florida. The Golden Eagles and Owls match will take place Monday at 7 a.m. central time at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.
