Grand Forks, N.D. - Golden Eagle Tennis wrapped up their weekend of Division One matchups with a match against the University of North Dakota this morning, ultimately losing 7-0. The final score does not do the Golden Eagles justice, however, as they made the Fighting Hawks work for every point.
In doubles, Asli Oktay (So., Istanbul, Turkey) and Ariadna Solis Guals (Jr., Santpedor, Spain) lost 6-2, Kavya Singh (Sr., Agra, India) and Nadia Cases Mundet (Jr., Barcelona, Spain) lost 6-0, and Abril Manas Hernandez (So., Barcelona, Spain) and Katie VanPelt (So., Austin, Minn.) lost 6-0.
In singles, Asli Oktay fell 6-2 and 6-0, Nadia Cases Mundet lost 6-0 and 6-3, Ariadna Solis Guals lost 6-1 and 6-0, Abril Manas Hernandez lost 6-1 in both sets, Kavya Singh lost 6-0 and 6-2, and Abby VanPelt (So., Austin, Minn.) lost 6-0 in both sets.
The Golden Eagles will head south to Orlando, Florida for two games. On Sunday, March 8th, the Golden Eagles will play California University of Pennsylvania. On Monday, March 9th, they will play Brynn Mawr College for the first time in program history.
