GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The University of Minnesota Crookston tennis team controlled the match Friday morning February 6, as they took down the University of Minnesota Morris 7-0 at Choice Health and Fitness in Grand Forks, N.D. The Golden Eagles did not lose a single game in Friday's match.
In doubles, the No. 1 pairing of
Daniela de Lucas Rivera (Jr., Madrid, Spain) and
Terez Drasilova (Fr., Naples, Fla.) took down Allison Bruhn and Jhazlynne Wynne, 6-0. At the No. 2 spot,
Abril Manas Hernandez (So., Barcelona, Spain) and
Nadia Cases Mundet (Jr., Barcelona, Spain) controlled the match 6-0 against Kristen Muller and Katherine Kelm. At the No. 3 pairing, twins
Katie VanPelt (So., Austin, Minn.) and
Abby VanPelt (So., Austin, Minn.) took down Avery Davis and Katelyn Money, 6-0.
In singles, de Lucas Rivera set the tone with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Bruhn. At the No. 2 spot,
Asli Oktay (So., Istanbul, Turkey) defeated Muller, 6-0, 6-0. At the No. 3 slot, Cases Mundet took down Wynne, 6-0, 6-0. At the No. 4 slot, Drasilova dominated Kelm, 6-0, 6-0. At No. 5 singles,
Kavya Singh (Sr., Agra, India) controlled Money, 6-0, 6-0. At the No. 6 slot, Manas Hernadez defeated Davis, 6-0, 6-0.
The Golden Eagles remain in Grand Forks to host Bemidji State at 6 p.m.
