Crookston, Minn. - The Golden Eagles regular season has now come to an end with two wins over Dakota College at Bottineau. With that finish, the Golden Eagles have secured the two seed in the WCCHA and have won the Northwest Division for the first time in program history! With that second seed, the Golden Eagles will play against the seventh seed North Dakota State University Bison.

The Golden Eagles and Bison did meet once this season already in a series that the Golden Eagles swept with scores of 6-2 and 11-6. The two programs have played 10 times in their histories, with the Golden Eagles dominating the series 9-1. The Golden Eagles have scored 71 goals in those 10 games, averaging 7.1 goals per game. On the other side, the Bison have scored 30 goals for three goals per game. The game to look back to this week is that 11-6 win earlier this season. In that game, the Golden Eagles were led by the duo of Mason Romfo (So., F, Langdon, N.D.), with six points, and Anthony Foster (Jr., F, Warroad, Minn.) who had a four point game.

The Golden Eagle Player to Watch in the quarterfinal game for the Golden Eagles is Alexander Bailey (5th, F/D, Crosby, N.D.) who has been a premier player for the Golden Eagles since transferring to the University of Minnesota Crookston ahead of the 2024-25 season. Since joining the Golden Eagles, Bailey has scored 15 goals and 49 assists for 64 points in 52 games. This season, Bailey has worn a couple different hats, playing on the wing, at center and on the blue line. He has been a key contributor on both the power play and the penalty kill. Alexander Bailey has also been one of the four alternate captains for the Golden Eagles this season.

Friday's game between the Golden Eagles and Bison will take place at the Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota, with puck drop set for 8:15 p.m. The game will be live on Youtube at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/live/68T_awof1pA
