BURNSVILLE, Minn. - University of Minnesota Crookston baseball player Jackson Fliflet (R-So., C, Wahpeton, N.D.) was selected as the NSIC Player of the Week after a stand-out performance for the Golden Eagles against Concordia-St. Paul last week.
Fliflet is a first-time NSIC Player of the Week honoree, and the first Golden Eagle of the 2026 season to receive the accolade. Josh Dykhoff earned the honor twice last season, while Saywer Satrom received the accolade once.
Fliflet hit .667 in four games against the Golden Bears, with a 1.444 slugging percentage, and a .750 on-base percentage as the Golden Eagles went 3-1 in Fort Scott, Kan., against Concordia-St. Paul. Fliflet scored six runs, with two home runs, and four RBI. He went 4-of-4 with two home runs in game one of the series. Fliflet has had an outstanding start to the 2026 campaign, his first season in a starting role for Minnesota Crookston. He is batting .538, with 12 runs scored, three doubles, four home runs, and 10 RBI. Fliflet has a 1.733 OPS, a 1.115 slugging percentage, and a .618 on-base percentage. Defensively, Fliflet has a .973 fielding percentage, with two runners caught stealing, seven assists, and 65 putouts.
Cody Wichmann of Southwest Minnesota State was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Week.
The Golden Eagles commence their seven-game road excursion to Florida February 28 against Northwood University.
