Crookston, Minn. - The Golden Eagles will head to the Central Regional Tournament as the fifth ranked team in their region. This is tied for the best final ranking in program history, tying the 2023-24 season. The Golden Eagles will face off against #12 Sault College, this will be the first between the two programs in their respective histories.
The Golden Eagles are fresh off of the WCCHA Tournament where they managed to win two of their three games and finish in third place in the conference. They are the third ranked team heading to Regionals from the WCCHA. They are joined by #2 University of Saint Thomas, #4 University of Minnesota, #7 University of Wisconsin, and #14 University of Jamestown.
The Golden Eagles and the Cougars are set for puck drop Friday, February 20th at 2 p.m. with the winner advancing to day two of Regionals. There will be eight regional games on Friday, with four on Saturday. The four winners of Saturday's games will then head to the National Tournament in St. Louis, Missouri March 15th-19th.
