Box Score Sioux Falls, S.D. – The gauntlet continued for Minnesota Crookston volleyball in NSIC play, who fell in straight sets on Friday night to Sioux Falls (16-25, 10-25, 17-25).
Minnesota Crookston falls to 6-6 (0-4 NSIC).
Set One
The first set would start out well for the Golden Eagles, who would hang with USF and would take an 11-10 lead, following a kill from
Megan Schoenfelder (Jr., MH, Zumbrota, Minn.).
The Cougars would take a 16-12 lead, but a service error and a
Carizma Muth (R-So., OH, Randolph, Wis.) kill would make it 16-14.
The Cougars would pull away for the first set win.
Set Two
Set two would be all Cougars.
USF would win the second set by 15.
Set Three
The Golden Eagles would score the first point of the set, following a Muth kill.
USF would lead 5-1, but
Madison Carsten (Jr., OH, Wadena, Minn.) would finish off a kill to cut the lead to three at 5-2.
Trailing 18-11, the maroon and gold would go on a 5-0 run, helped by a kill from Carsten and a duo block from Muth and
Penelope Vertin (Jr., MH, Wayzata, Minn.).
The Cougars would eventually win the set by eight and the match, 3-0.
Individual Stats
Muth led the way with eight kills, while Carsten added six kills and
Emma Malek (Jr., MH, Plainfield, Ill.) finished with five. Schoenfelder added a season-high four.
Ellery Ehresmann (Fr., S, Albany, Minn.) led the way with 14 assists, while
Abbi Gingerich (Fr., S, Granger, Ind.) added a career best eight assists.

The Golden Eagles will meet nationally-ranked Southwest Minnesota State tomorrow afternoon at the R/A Facility in Marshall.
