CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston men's golf team announced the addition of Jack Justesen (Hawley, Minn./Minnesota State University) to their signing class. Justesen joins Jaime Martinez Guimon (Getxo, Spain/American School of Bilbao) in the 2025 signing class.
"Jack is a great addition to our program and fits in with our group," said Head Coach Brad Heppner. "He is a proven winner and a player who loves to work hard. He comes from a great golf family. It will be fun to watch him grow as a player at the U of M Crookston."
The Golden Eagles are looking to build on a very successful 2024-25 season. Minnesota Crookston finished fifth as a team at the 2025 NSIC Championship, their best finish since 2022. The Golden Eagles posted their three best finishes since 2009 during the 2024-25 season. In addition, Lukas Justesen, Jack's cousin, was the first Golden Eagle since 2022 named to the All-NSIC squad. Marc Bofarull Balleste returns after being the first U of M Crookston player named All-NSIC Tournament since 2011. In addition to Bofarull Balleste, they also return Andrew Wilhelm, Connor Czirjak, Holdyn Evjen, and Gannon Walsh were among the top players by average for the Golden Eagles last season.
The signee who is reported in this release either signed an Athletic Aid Agreement or an Institutional Declaration of Intent (IDI). All signees released by the University of Minnesota Crookston have been verified by the compliance office that all documents have been properly signed and dated, and have been authorized for release.
Jack Justesen (Hawley, Minn./Minnesota State University)
Justesen played nine rounds as a freshman for Minnesota State University during his freshman season in 2024-25. He held an average of 75.0 during the season, while he shot a season-low 70 at The Mule. Justesen helped the Mavericks to a 299.2 average during his lone season in Mankato. He was a four-time All-Heart of Lakes Conference selection. Justesen is a two-time Conference Champion at Hawley H.S. He was a three-time All-State pick, and made three State Tournament appearances. Justesen was a Class AA State Champion in 2024. Additionally, he was a Section 8-AA Champion.
He is the son of Shawn and Chastity Justesen. Justesen plans to major in finance at Minnesota Crookston. He comes from a golf family. His dad Shawn Justesen played golf at the University of Wyoming, as did his uncle Jason. His brother Carter Justesen golfed at Minnesota State Community and Technical College. His cousin Lukas golfed for Minnesota Crookston from 2023-25. His sister Faith golfed at the University of Jamestown.
