Blue Springs, Mo. – Marc Bofarull Balleste (So., Barcelona, Spain) continued his torrid pace up the leaderboard at the NSIC Championships, as he moved up 11 more spots during the final day, finishing in fifth and earning a spot on the NSIC All-Tournament Team. Bofarull Balleste is the first Golden Eagle since 2010-11 to earn a spot on the All-Tournament team, when Jon Blazek did it for the Golden Eagles. The Spaniard shot a career low 68, one stroke better than his previous career low, set just yesterday. Minnesota Crookston finished in fifth as a team, their best finish at the conference tournament since 2022, when they also finished in fifth.
Lukas Justesen (Sr., Detroit Lakes, Minn.) also was outstanding all tournament, finishing in seventh, improving upon his 12
th place finish at the Championships a year ago.
Concordia-St. Paul won their second NSIC tournament, while Winona State and Bemidji State finished in second and third, respectively.
Connor Czirjak (So., Calgary, Alberta) finished in 25
th. Andrew Wilhelm (So., Fargo, N.D.) was three over par on the day and finished in 31st. while
Layton Bartley (Sr., Fargo, N.D.) moved up four spots to finish in 34
th.
CSP earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Central/Midwest Regional. A total of 80 teams and 32 individuals will be selected for regional competition. There will be four regional sites where two regions will meet and conduct regional tournaments. The NCAA Midwest/Central Super Regional will be played on May 8-10 at St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Missouri; hosted by Missouri Western University and St. Joseph Sports Commission. Two individuals and a minimum of three teams from each regional will advance to the finals, while the eight remaining team berths will be allocated based on the regions represented in the prior year's head-to-head medal play portion of the championships. Selections will be announced on Friday, April 25 via a press release on NCAA.com.
