Mayetta, Kan. – Minnesota Crookston men's golf wrapped up their spring season at the Firekeeper Open for a 36-hole, three round tournament, hosted by Washburn.
Through the first round, the maroon and gold sat in seventh place. After the second round on Monday, Minnesota Crookston ended the day in a tie with Southwest Oklahoma State for 13
th. Overall, the maroon and gold finished in 15
th.
Following the first two rounds, Concordia-St. Paul was in first place after shooting three below par. No. 5 Central Oklahoma was second, while No. 10 Oklahoma Christian was in third. Hutchinson Community College and host school Washburn rounded out the top five.
Andrew Wilhelm (So., Fargo, N.D.) carded a 150 through two rounds, putting him six over on the day and in 40
th.
Marc Bofarull Balleste (So., Barcelona, Spain) finished the first day seven over par and in 50
th.
Lukas Justesen (Sr., Detroit Lakes, Minn.), the reigning NSIC Golfer of the Week, finished the second round just two over par.
To close out the tournament, Justesen had a heck of a day, moving up 14 spots, finishing in 47
th.
Oklahoma Christian won the tournament, while Central Oklahoma and Concordia-St. Paul rounded out the top three.
What's Next
Minnesota Crookston has a week and a half off, before they compete in the NSIC Championships in Blue Spring, Mo., on April 17-19.
