Bemidji, Minn. - The Golden Eagles knew this would be a tough match as they went head-to-head with the second seeded Minnesota State University, Mankato. While many sets were close, not many went the Golden Eagles' way as they fell 6-1.
In doubles, the Golden Eagles went 1-2. Daniela de Lucas Rivera (So., Madrid, Spain) and Ariadna Solis Guals (So., Santpedor, Spain) fell 6-1, Blaike Zander (Sr., Bismarck, N.D.) and Asli Oktay (Fr., Istanbul, Turkey) lost in a tight 6-4 match, and Kavya Singh (Jr., Agra, India) and Nadia Cases Mundet (So., Barcelona, Spain) won 6-3.
In singles, de Lucas Rivera lost both sets 6-2, Oktay lost 6-4 and 7-6, Solis Guals lost 7-6 and 6-4, Cases Mundet won 6-2 in both sets, Zander lost 7-5, won 6-0 and lost 10-7, and Abril Manas Hernandez (Fr., Barcelona, Spain) lost 7-5, won 6-4 and lost 10-4.
The Golden Eagles are back in action tomorrow in Bemidji as they go against Winona State University at 9 a.m.
