Mayetta, Kan. – Minnesota Crookston men's golf has spent most of the spring gearing up for the NSIC Championships. This upcoming week, they will have their final tune-up before the NSIC Championships, as the Golden Eagles will compete at the Firekeeper Open, hosted by Washburn University.

This will be the third and final time that the Golden Eagles will compete in Kansas, Dorothy Gale's (Wizard of Oz) home state.
The field that the Golden Eagles will be competing with will be challenging. The field has 19 teams, including the maroon and gold and has nine teams ranked in the top-60, nationally. Central Missouri, Winona State (No. 56), Washburn (No. 59), Southern Arkansas (No. 51), Central Oklahoma (No. 5), Concordia-St. Paul, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Missouri Southern State, Missouri Western (No. 58), Oklahoma Christian (No. 10), Fort Hays State, Hutchinson Community College, Dodge City Community College, Henderson State (No. 33), Newman, Minnesota State, West Texas A & M (No. 50) and Harding University (No. 20).
Minnesota Crookston is currently ranked 108
th in the nation.
Lukas Justesen (Sr., Detroit Lakes, Minn.), the reigning NSIC Golfer of the Week, will look to pace the Golden Eagles once again in a challenging field. Justesen is coming off a sixth place finish at the FHSU Tiger Classic, shooting a 70 during the final two rounds. The sixth-place finish for the senior is the highest of his career and sixth finish inside the top-20 this season.
Andrew Wilhelm (So., Fargo, N.D.) has had a great spring, finishing in the top-30 in all three spring tournaments.
Connor Czirjak (So., Calgary, Alberta) has a seventh place finish this season, as well.
The three round tournament will consist of two rounds on Monday and the final round on Tuesday.
