FARGO, N.D. - The University of Minnesota Crookston tennis program fell 7-0 to No. 16 Augustana University Friday, March 21 at Courts Plus in Fargo, N.D.
The Golden Eagles dropped to 5-5 (2-2 NSIC) after Friday's loss to the Vikings. Augustana improved to 7-4 (1-0 NSIC) with the victory over Minnesota Crookston.
In doubles, the No. 1 pair of Daniela de Lucas Rivera (So., Madrid, Spain) and Ariadna Solis Guals (So., Santpedor, Spain) fell 6-2 to Nicole Dufour and Fernanda Sandoval, falling to 3-4. At the No. 2 spot, Asli Oktay (Fr., Istanbul, Turkey) and Blaike Zander (Sr., Bismarck, N.D.) was defeated 6-3 by Gabriela Janckova and Chelsea Seidiwitz, dropping to 1-4. At the No. slot, Kavya Singh (Jr., Agra, India) and Nadia Cases Mundet (So;., Barcelona, Spain) narrowly fell 7-5 to Simone Karaouza and Martina Sfilio, dropping to 2-4.
In singles, de Lucas Rivera was upended 6-1, 6-4 by Dufour, falling to 5-3. At the No. 2 slot, Oktay was defeated 6-4, 6-0 by Sandovla, dropping to 3-5 this season. At No. 3 singles, Solis Guals was upended 6-1, 6-0 by Jancikova, falling to 2-1 in singles. At the No. 4 slot, Cases Mundet fell 6-0, 6-2 to Karaouza, dropping to 6-4. At the No. 5 spot, Zander was defeated by Seidiwitz, 6-1, 6-1, falling to 6-4. At the No. 6 slot, Singh was defeated by Sfilio, 6-4, 6-2, dropping to 3-5 in 2025.
Minnesota Crookston competes against Bemidji State University March 28 in Grand Forks, N.D., at 5 p.m.
