Crookston, Minn. - Mason Romfo (Fr., F, Langdon, N.D.) had a season to remember in his first year with the Golden Eagle Hockey Program. He was also named ACHA All-Athletic Second Team. Setting records in any season is difficult, setting three records is basically unheard of. But that is exactly what Mason Romfo did this season. With 30 goals and 36 assists for 66 points in 29 games, Romfo set the records for most goals in a season, most points by a rookie in a season, and most points in a season in the ACHA Era of the Golden Eagles.

Romfo's season had him finish tied for second in the ACHA M2 scoring, just six points shy of being tied for the top spot. When asked about what finishing that high in the nation means to him, Romfo said "

Romfo was also asked about some of the key factors to his incredible rookie season, his response was "Finishing top three in ACHA means a lot to me but I can't give my teammates enough credit for helping me to the top three finish. This combined with two wins at the Regional Tournament gives me a lot of confidence that we can get to the National Tournament."

With Romfo only being a freshman, this year sets him up for a lot more success with the Golden Eagles throughout his time here. He is lined up to be a major part of the next few years of this program's success.
