GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The University of Minnesota Crookston tennis team fell 7-0 to Division I University of North Dakota Sunday, February 9 at Choice Health and Fitness Center in Grand Forks, N.D.
The Golden Eagles dropped to 1-2 with the loss, while UND improved to 4-1 with the victory. The Fighting Hawks went 10-13 in 2024.
In doubles, the No. 1 pair of Daniela de Lucas Rivera (So., Madrid, Spain), and Asli Oktay (Fr., Istanbul, Turkey) fell 6-2 to Aziza Aubin, and Ethel Li. At the No. 2 doubles slot, Nadia Cases Mundet (So., Barcelona, Spain), and Kavya Singh (Jr., Agra, India) were defeated 6-0 by Nore Heinitz, and Jule Schulte. At the No. 3 pair of Abril Manas Hernandez (Fr., Barcelona, Spain), and Blaike Zander (Sr., Bismarck, N.D.) fell 6-2 to Alyssa Giupponi, and Manon Hallemans.
In singles, Oktay fell to Andrea Pineda, 6-2, 6-1. At the No. 2 spot, Cases Mundet fell 6-0, 6-0 to Schulte. At the No. 3 slot, Zander was defeated by Li, 6-2, 6-0. At the No. 4 spot, Singh was upended by Heinitz, 6-0, 6-0. At the No. 5 slot, Manas Hernandez fell 6-1, 6-0 to Aubin. At the No. 6 spot, Kaydance Hinn (Sr., Coon Rapids, Minn.) was upended by Hallemans, 6-0, 6-0.
Minnesota Crookston hosts Concordia College Sunday, February 16 at 3 p.m., at Choice Health and Fitness.
