Crookston, Minn. - The Golden Eagles are looking to bounce back following a tight loss against St. Cloud State last week. This weekend, they will head to Bemidji for a matchup on Friday with the Beavers, they will then head to Grand Forks for a meeting with the Fighting Hawks on Sunday.
Â
The Golden Eagles had a very even matchup with the Huskies last weekend, going 2-1 in doubles and 3-4 in singles. The Golden Eagles will look to recapture the success that they had a year ago. However, they do hope to buck the trend that they fell into last year on the road, posting a 1-3 record in road matches. They have started off 0-1 in that category this year, but are heading on the road this weekend with plans of coming home with a 2-1 road record.
Â
The Beavers. The Beavers started the year off with a 1-0 record, following a 5-2 win against University of Wisconsin-River Falls. The Beavers were 1-2 in doubles, winning one matchup by a score of 8-2.
Â
The Beavers dominated in singles, winning five of their six singles matches and sweeping all but one.
Â
The Fighting Hawks. The Fighting Hawks have had a lot of early success this year, starting off the year 3-1. They started off the year 3-0, losing their most recent game.Â
Â
In singles, they are an unbelievable 11-1. Five of their players are 2-0 in singles matches. They have not been any less successful in doubles, sitting with a 5-0 record there.
