VIRGINIA, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston tennis team swept the weekend with a 7-0 victory over St. Cloud State University in Virginia, Minn. The Golden Eagles bounced back after a non-conference loss to the Huskies January 31 to open the 2025 slate.

Minnesota Crookston improved to 4-2 (2-0 NSIC) with Saturday's victory. St. Cloud State dropped to 1-2 with the loss.

Daniela de Lucas Rivera (So., Madrid, Spain), and Ariadna Solis Guals (So., Santpedor, Spain) improved to 3-0 with a 6-3 victory over Maria Paz Aoki, and Johanna Brower. At the No. 2 doubles slot, Blaike Zander (Sr., Bismarck, N.D.), and Asli Oktay (Fr., Istanbul, Turkey) fell to 1-1 with a 6-4 loss to Claudia Munoz Perez, and Lara-Maria Schaefer. At the No.3 spot, Nadia Cases Mundet (So., Barcelona, Spain), and Kavya Singh (Jr., Agra, India) defeated Brooklyn Broadwell, and Gibby Chapman to improve to 3-2.

In singles, de Lucas Rivera earned a 7-5, 7-5 win over Munoz Perez to improve to 4-1 at the No. 1 spot. At No. 2 singles, Oktay defeated Brower 6-4, 6-1, to move to 3-2 in her inaugural season. At the No. 3 spot, Cases Mundet upended Paz Aoki, 6-1, 6-3, to improve to 5-1. At the No. 4 slot, Zander defeated Broadwell, 6-4, 6-0, to move to 5-1. At the No. 5 spot, Manas Hernandez picked up a 6-3, 4-6, 10-4 victory over Schaefer to improve to 4-2. At the No. 6 slot, Singh upended Chapman, 6-3, 7-5.Â
