Grand Forks, N.D. - The Golden Eagles hosted Concordia College today for their home opener. The Golden Eagles were coming into the match with a 1-2 record on the season.
In doubles, the Golden Eagles crushed their opponent, winning each match. Daniela de Lucas Rivera (So., Madrid, Spain) and Ariadna Solis Guals (So., Santpedor, Spain) won their set 6-3, Nadia Cases Mundet (So., Barcelona, Spain) and Abril Manas Hernandez (Fr., Barcelona, Spain) won theirs 6-2, and Blaike Zander (Sr., Bismarck, N.D.) and Kaydance Hinn (Sr., Coon Rapids, Minn.) won their set 6-1.
The Golden Eagles also dominated in singles, winning each match. de Lucas Rivera won in two sets by scores of 6-1 and 6-2, Asli Oktay (Fr., Istanbul, Turkey) also won in two sets with a score of 6-0 in both sets, Cases Mundet won both of her sets 6-0 as well, Zander won her two 6-1 and 6-0, Manas Hernandez won 6-0 and 6-4, and Hinn won 6-0 and 6-3.
Golden Eagles Tennis will head on a road trip, with their next match in Virginia, Minnesota against the University of Minnesota Duluth.
