Crookston, Minn. - Golden Eagle Hockey is in Collegeville, Minnesota this weekend for a pair of games with the Saint John's University Johnnies. Tonight's matchup featured Adam Goody (Jr., G, Airdrie, Alberta) who entered the contest with a 6-1-0 record, a 3.14 goals against average and a .896 save percentage. For the Johnnies, it was Huck Heggerston with a 3-3-0 record, a 5.33 goals against average, and a .877 save percentage. The Golden Eagles used a pair of late second period goals to earn themselves a 4-2 win.

The first period was not a very eventful one, with Adam Goody stopping all six shots he faced while Heggerston saved 15 of the 16 he faced. That one goal was scored a minute and 14 seconds into the period, with Jackson Dodds (5th, F, Watford City, N.D.) getting one past Heggerston, Brody Nordmark (Fr., D, Souris, N.D.) was credited with the assist on the game's opening goal. No penalties were called in the first period, and it was 1-0 Golden Eagles heading into the second.

It took a while to get the ball rolling in the second period, with both goalies showcasing another strong 20 minutes, Goody saved all 15 shots against while Heggerston made 23 saves on 25 shots against. It took until the 20th minute of the second period, but with 51.7 seconds left on the clock, Rudy Moser (So., F, Langdon, N.D.) scored his second of the year and of his Golden Eagle career. Kadin Edwards (Fr., F, Crookston, Minn.) and Jackson Dodds had the assists. 11 seconds later, Braden Van de Kraats (So., F, Medicine Hat, Alberta) made it a 3-0 contest, Anthony Foster (Jr., F, Warroad, Minn.) and Brody Nordmark had the assists on this goal. This marked Nordmark's first career multi-point game, and that would be the end of the first 40 minutes.

The third period had the Johnnies battle back and put all the pressure on the Golden Eagles to close out the game, with 10:54 left, Thomas Lewn put the Johnnies on the board with a powerplay goal. The Johnnies would get another powerplay later on and take advantage of that one as well, with Rory Smith bringing the game within one with 1:23 on the clock. 50 seconds later, Mason Romfo (So., F, Langdon, N.D.) put this game to bed with an empty net goal, Anthony Foster got the assist, and the Golden Eagles came away with a win. Goody made 31 saves on 33 shots against, Heggerston made 54 saves on 57 shots against.

The Golden Eagles and Johnnies return to action tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. to wrap up this series and the Golden Eagles' semester.
