Crookston, Minn. - The Golden Eagles are on the road this weekend for their last series of the fall semester, and they head into the weekend on fire or a matchup with Saint John's University. They are currently on a six game winning streak, with seven players at or above a point per game. There are only five weekends of hockey remaining before the team heads to Blaine, Minnesota for the WCCHA Tournament, so the next five weekends are the most important as we head towards the end of the season.

The Golden Eagles and the Johnnies have played six times, with the Golden Eagles winning all six. The Golden Eagles have scored 51 goals for an average of 8.5 goals per game. The Johnnies have scored 10 goals, averaging 1.66 per game. In last year's series, the Golden Eagles won both games by a score of 13-0, which was the program record for goals in a game at the time but has since been beaten with 15. The last time the Golden Eagles played the Johnnies on the road, the Golden Eagles won the game 9-2, in a game that saw the current Golden Eagle captain Logan Syrup (5th, F, Park River, N.D.) lead the team with two goals and an assist with Adam Goody (Jr., G, Airdrie Alberta) making 28 saves on 30 shots against.

This weekend's Golden Eagles Player to Watch is Tyler Lorenz (So., D, Shakopee, Minn.) who has been a major contributor to the Golden Eagles' 12-2-0 record thus far. Lorenz has played all 14 games, scoring 13 points with 12 of those being assists. There have only been four games this season where Lorenz did not register a point, and he is currently riding a five game point streak. Against the Johnnies in his freshman season, Lorenz scored two goals and three assists for five points in two games. Lorenz's defensive play has also gotten even better this season, as he has started to develop into one of the best two-way defenders in the ACHA.

The Golden Eagles and Johnnies are set for puck drop at 7:30 p.m. on Friday in Collegeville, Minnesota. Saturday will be a 12:30 p.m. puck drop.
