GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The University of Minnesota Crookston tennis team won an exhibition 6-1 over the University of Mary to conclude their fall matches at Choice Health and Fitness in Grand Forks, N.D.
The Golden Eagles won a pair of matches in the fall, with wins over Jamestown and UMary.
In doubles, Asli Oktay (So., Istanbul, Turkey) and Terez Drasilova (Fr., Naples, Fla.) picked up a 6-2 win over Elizabete Lekse and Josefa Panganiban. At the No. 3 slot, Nadia Cases Mundet (Jr., Barcelona, Spain) and Ariadna Solis Guals (Jr., Santpedor, Spain) picked up a 6-0 victory against Brooke Mulholland and Valeria Bradley. At No. 2 doubles, Daniela de Lucas Rivera (Jr., Madrid, Spain) and Abril Manas Hernandez (So., Barcelona, Spain) fell 6-3 to Anna Sueflohn and Josie Sueflohn. Minnesota Crookston earned the doubles point.
In singles, de Lucas Rivera picked up a 6-3, 6-4 win at the No. 1 spot over Lekse. Josie Sueflohn upended Oktay, 7-5, 6-2 at the No. 2 slot. At No. 3 singles, Cases Mundet earned a 6-4, 6-1 win over Anna Sueflohn. At the No. 4 spot, Drasilova defeated Panganiban, 6-4, 6-1. At No. 5 singles, Solis Guals won in three sets over Bradley, 2-6, 7-6, 13-11. At the No. 6 spot, Kavya Singh (Sr., Agra, India) upended Mulholland, 6-4, 6-1.
The Golden Eagles open the spring season January 31 against Minnesota State University Moorhead.
