CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston trap shooting team remains in fourth place in Class 1A-Conference 7 of the USA College Clay Target League after their second week of the fall season. The Golden Eagles have 1,938 points overall. They currently trail Lindenwood University, Alfred State College, and Southwest Wisconsin Technical College. Minnesota Crookston leads Western Technical College, who has 1,671.50 points, and Lake Area Technical College.
Jayden Bergerson (Sr., Gully, Minn.) ranks tied for 10th among male shooters in 1A-Conference 7 with an average of 24.00. Bergerson hit 50-of-50 for the week, for a 50-straight. Dessa Terning (Fr., Dassel, Minn.) ranks tied for sixth among female shooters in the conference with a 23.75 average. Bergerson is ranked tied for 38th in the entire USA College Clay Target League. Terning is tied for 54th.
Bergerson had a perfect 50 on the week, but combined with practice got a 75-straight patch with a total score for the week of 99/100. Chase Nelson (Jr., Red Lake Falls, Minn.) had a 25-straight in competitive scoring, while Lucas Wavra (So., East Grand Forks, Minn.), Braxton Qual (Jr., Mahnomen, Minn.), and Sydney Huwe (Sr., Carver, Minn.) all had 25-straight in practice.
Bergerson led the way with a 50 in week two. Terning connected on 47-of-50. Kallen Littler knocked down 46-of-50 targets in week two. Wavra was also 46-of-50. Rebecca Morstad (So., Cavalier, N.D.), Nelson, and Codey Wolff (Sr., Wadena, Minn.) went 45-of-50. Eli Devore (So., Park Rapids, Minn.), and Kelsey Harms (Sr., Norwood Young America, Minn.) went 44-of-50. Huwe, and C.J. Walsh (So.) went 43-of-50. Ethan Benedict (Sr., Maple Grove, Minn.) hit 42-of-50 targets. Kaden Halvorson (Fr.), Payton Homme (Jr., Goodridge, Minn.), and Amelia Miller (Fr., Hastings, Minn.) went 41-of-50. Louis Siegel (Jr., Anoka, Minn.), and Kara Wold (Jr., Belgrade, Minn.) each hit 40-of-50 targets.
The Golden Eagles are currently in week three of the fall season.
