St. Joseph, Mo. – Coming off their first tournament win of the season last weekend in Kansas, Minnesota Crookston men's golf will look to continue their strong play of golf this weekend at the Holiday Inn Express Invitational in St. Joseph, Mo.
The tournament will take place at the St. Joseph Country Club.
The Golden Eagles did not compete at this tournament last year, but did finish in 11
th place out of 17 programs in the fall of 2023.
Marc Bofarull Balleste (Jr., Barcelona, Spain) led the Golden Eagles by winning the Newman Invite, using a pair of rounds in the high 60's to win the tournament in a playoff. Bofarull Balleste won his first career weekly conference honors.
Bofarull Balleste wasn't the only Golden Eagle who was outstanding last week.
Connor Czirjak (Jr., Calgary, Alberta),
Holdyn Evjen (So., Hermantown, Minn.) and
Andrew Wilhelm (Jr., Fargo, N.D.) each finished in the top-10 at the tournament last weekend.
The Golden Eagles finished with a school record six golfers in the top-10 at the Newman Invite.
The tournament commences tomorrow morning and will go into Tuesday.
