Sioux Falls, S.D. – Competing for the first time in 28 days, the University of Minnesota Crookston women's golf team finished the first round at the Augustana University Invitational in a tie for sixth, shooting a 346 during the opening day.
Anaka Lysne (So., Wahpeton, N.D.) and
Clara Hanson (Jr., Grand Forks, N.D.) were outstanding all day, both finishing in a tie for 12
th, shooting an 84 on the day.
Augustana, the host of the Invitational, sits atop the leaderboard by 27 strokes heading into the final round of the tournament tomorrow. Sioux Falls and Concordia-St. Paul are in a tie for second, each shooting 334 as a team.
Individually, the Vikings have three in the top three. Lauren Tims, Shannon McCormick and Lanie Veenendal are 1-2-3 after the first day.
Also for the Golden Eagles,
Lauren Bowyer (So., Ivanhoe, Minn.) and
Libby Dulmage (Fr., Leeds, N.D.) each are in a tie for 32
nd after shooting an 89.
The Golden Eagles will close out the tournament tomorrow morning with the final 18 holes. All teams will tee off at 10 A.M., from Elmwood Golf Course.
